The Cake Shop has been creating beautiful and delicious wedding cakes for the past 45 years. We bake and decorate the cakes to your specifications. Our pastry chef, Steve Newman, is a wedding cake specialist willing to create your perfect cake.
Steve Newman continues to pursue his lifelong interest in baking and designing fine pastries. The artistry of his work reflects a sense of tradition and elegance. Chef Newman developed his own style and practice after training under ACF Master Pastry Chef Joseph McKenna in New York and Charleston, SC. Recruited westward, he worked in many top restaurants in Aspen, CO, Jackson Hole, WY and Lake Tahoe, CA. Returning to Tallahassee, Steve was hired as the pastry chef at the Governor's Club, followed by Albert's Provence. He has taught at the FSU Dedman School of Hospitality. Steve joined The Cake Shop in 2004 as a wedding cake pastry chef which he has been doing for over twenty years.
Wedding cake prices start at $3.25 per serving although pricing is dependent on the design and complexity of the cake. We are unable to quote a final price until we have met with you. Our wedding cake service includes your cake, with flavor and design of your choice, a box for your cake top, delivery and setup. Cake stands are available for rent . Feel free to come into The Cake Shop to browse through the many photo albums and wedding books, enjoy the bakery, and get ideas.
Consultations to design your cake are by appointment only. We have set aside Wednesday's for our brides and grooms to be.
